Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), in its ruling in a case between Vincent Deroo-Blanquart and Sony, ruled that selling a computer with pre-installed software is not an unfair commercial practice. Further, it found that there is no requirement to list the costs of the software. Case arise when Deroo-Blanquart bought a Sony laptop in 2008 and wanted to be reimbursed for the cost of the pre-installed software but Sony refused to.
